Cake Servers are companions to the Cake Knife. As their names suggest, they are used to serve up slices of cake onto a plate. They are sometimes paired together with a cake knife. They are traditionally used at afternoon tea and weddings. Afternoon Tea was invented by a hungry Duchess who couldn't wait for Dinner. Her name was Anna and she was the seventh Duchess of Bedford. She ordered a small meal secretly but when it was discovered by her friends, instead of the ridicule she expected, was actually looked upon as a good idea and over time the habit became a great British Tradition.
