Cigarette Cards were first introduced around 1875. They often depicted actresses, baseball players, Indian Chiefs and boxers. These were the first cards and were issued by the Allan and Ginter tobacco company.

Early cigarette cards were often made of silk and mounted on a paper backing. These are highly sought after and are extremely collectible.
