Tea Strainers have been used since the late 1700's. Before this date silver mote skimmers were used to dislodge trapped leaves from teapot spouts. Tea strainers not only make good collectible items but are also still very practical for Tea Lovers who still prefer a fresh pot made with tea leaves as opposed to the more modern teabag.
